So an impressive amount of time has elapsed since I last updated this here, which I'm told is one of the worst ways to look after your own web site (a fact I happily preach to my clients..). Well the idea was that I was going to completely redesign this here site, then a job came up and then another one. And so it went. I'm pretty happy with this situation though to be fair...
So since my last email I have made a number of sites, but the one I will talk of here belongs to the marvellous people over at Urban Fresh Fruit. They make rather delicious little fruit snacks which are both tasty and healthy, so combining the key elements of health food which has until recently had the reputation of being good for you, but, well not tasting that great. I'm sure a lot of people would disagree with me, but I've only got my taste buds to guide me on this.
But the stuff these guys make, well I love it. Especially the mango, pineapple and strawberry packs. It's only fruit: no sugar, no additives, the small packs have awesome illustrations by the wonderful Hennie Haworth and they taste fantastic.
They wanted a site which dispelled people's expectations of what dried fruit is all about and I think we've come to a good solution to that.
The site is coded to web standards and has a rather spiffing blogging system for the guys over there.
I will be redesigning this site soon, honestly...
I recently set up a site for a local designer named Nick Fraser, his work
is almost an investigation into making the most of his products, of not
just having an item with one purpose.
Chairs
that double up as tables or coat
stands made out of old pipes.
You can take a look at the site at:
It's been a busy time
The new Bonbi Forest site is live! And very proud of it I am too....I've worked closely with Lee May to create a site that blends usability with her unique visual style. It is a fully operational E-Commerce store and had a easy to use administrative side which is easily managed and maintained.
But most importantly, it just has lots of really lovely objects for you to marvel at and buy.
I've heard a rumour that Miss Lee May Foster of the rather glorious Bonbi Forest is planning a complete redesign of her online store. When I say 'rumour' I mean that she told me, but that's besides the point. But that where is where alot of my energies will be heading soon.
Keep an ear out, there are a lot of improvements ahead for that place, all of which are very exciting and that I will be lucky enough to help bring into fruition.....I'll keep you posted.
This month and a bit of last month has seen the relaunch of the Bat
For Lashes website, it's been a while since the site was first made and there has been a considerable increase in interest in the band.
Well they've been nominated for a Mercury award so that is always a fair
indicator isn't it?
Natasha came down to see me to work on the new concept and design. As with all designs we both had ideas of what the site would be and the final product looks nothing like any of those. It was alot of fun to make and I'm very proud of it.
It's been a busy month to say the least, as you can see I've finally got
round to redesigning this here portfolio site. To the extent that it is now
going to include this here 'blog' type news page, which will include updates
to what is going on round here for me and other general musings, I'm confident
that they this will eventually disintergrate into books
and CD's that I like.
But then, there are a lot of those.
So it goes....
Talking of which, hello to those who have got here through various means, let me introduce myself. I'm Mark I make websites.
