A collaboration website made with Kingston based graphic design company Ball Design Consultancy for their company portfolio website. They specialise in academic brochure design and wanted a home site with an approachable atmosphere and that shows the people behind the work.

The site has a content management system that allows easy updating to all areas of the site. It also has details of how to find them when travelling by pogostick.

I have been working with the guys over at Urban Fruit for a few years now, and wonderful people they are too. Meetings with them are tests of concentration as they put dishes of their delicious snacks on the table  and you have to see if you can stop yourself from eating all of them at once. Being a consumate professional I tend to have a few and then try and grab as many as I can when leaving. But I digress….

Urban Fruit decided that they wanted to create a new range of snacks that retained their healthy and ethical principles but yet appealed to a wider audience and stepped away from all the preconceptions of what dried fruit snacks are.

So BEAR was born, a fun and edgy new fruit snack with a lovely range of products. The site was a collaboration with the good folk over at B & B Design who came up with the original concept and design and I sorted out all the tech elements and animations.

The site has a CMS and can be updated easily and a simple e-commerce shop that means you can buy their products – I recommend the Mango Pineapple particularly – absolutely lush….

It is always a pleasure to work with the guys over at BEAR, a small company that make a wonderful product and that are really starting to see the fruits of their labour (I can’t believe I put ‘fruits of their labour there….). Success that they thoroughly deserve.

A couple of months ago Lee May, of the until recently named Bonbi Forest Indie Emporium, decided that she wanted to downscale her shop and concentrate on the designing of new and beautiful trinkets.

So she has slimmed the name back to Bonbi Forest and now concentrates entirely on her own designs – this can only be a good and wonderful thing, as a look at some of her beautiful artwork shows that she is a rare talent.

As always her site was a collaboration between the two of us as we aimed for a design that had a more minimal feel that still entirely reflects Lee May’s unique artistic world view.

There can also be seen a return of one of the world’s most reluctant male models, my good self. As it may be a little known fact that Lee May is my long term lady friend, she has also agreed to marry me next year! Potential clients can be assured that marriage is in no way a normal part of my web design contract.

The site was made with bespoke templates and designs and has a full ecommerce system as well as a content management system all of which can be controlled and updated by the client.

Stella McClure is the lady that runs The Stellar Boutique in which she sells her incredible selection of vintage, rare and, more often than not, one-off clothing. In her own words:

“Vintage clothing (to which it is most favourably known) is fast becoming the ‚Äòtrendiest‚Äô way to shop, and with today‚Äôs most prominent fashion power-houses continuing to look to the past to create future collections, it seems vintage clothing is the way forward.”

Stella wanted a store that reflected the diversity and quality of her wares and also reflected the name of her store, so the site is full of unique designs that combine astrological imagery with a vintage, psychedelic feel.

The overall site aesthetic benefits from Stella’s fantastic product photography, and if your wondering how the weather looks amazing in all the images, this is because Stella is based in Spain – where it appears to be very warm indeed, unlike the very cold UK summer we had during the project development….

The site has a full ecommerce system as well as a blog content management system all made to web standards.

Dirty Addiction create exciting, unique fashion. Chloe, the lady behind the company, designs all of the pieces and has created the world that makes up Dirty Addiction. Its very much a forward thinking internet company where Chloe has put herself at the forefront with a youtube channel, a stickam page and a variety of ways for her customers to interact with her, a great idea I think as it means that people feel involved in a vibrant, creative brand rather than merely a consumer.

The site is a full ecommerce store combined with a blog, meaning that Chloe can incorporate all the facets of her vision into one website.

It made me very happy to design it as it has what I think is the greatest colour combination of all time – Pink & yellow.

For those who have ever met me the idea of me making a website for a hairdressing salon is probably quite a funny one. Mainly because I often forget to have my hair cut for months on end. But I digress….

Number 8 Hairdressing is a superb salon in Truro, Cornwall where you can have your hair wonderfully styled in a relaxed, informal, comfortable environment. The team there are lovely people and they make you feel very at home.

They wanted a site that showed the professionalism, modernity and quality of their work and so the site has a classy, polished feel with plenty of examples of the salon’s expertise.

The Number 8 Hairdressing website  is coded to web standards and is run using WordPress so that the staff at the salon can add content, images and upcoming events to the site for themselves.

The Mummers describe themselves as “the medieval performing troupes who would go from door-to-door wearing masks and costumes, staging plays in rhyme and song and mime” and that is a pretty good summation of the other wordly noises they make.

You may have seen them perform on “Later with Jools Holland” a couple of weeks back where they pretty much stole the show.

They got in touch with me as they need an simple, informative site that reflected their music, but yet was easy to update and add content too, so I tried to reflect the smokey, cabaret feel of their latest album cover “Tale to Tell” but in a way that didn’t overwhelm the simple need to tell people who these guys are and what they sound like.

The site was coded to web standards using bespoke templates and the content management system is run using the ever flexible WordPress.

I thoroughly recommend checking these guys out if you are a fan of mystical, fantastical music. They are also thoroughly lovely people.

I’ve been working with Natasha Khan aka Bat For Lashes for a number of years now and its been an incredible trip to see how things have expanded for her since then.
When I first met her she was playing in a tiny bar in Brighton and I was astounded by the sheer beauty of her voice, to the point where I persuaded her she needed a website to publicise herself.

Now many years on she’s doing pretty well for herself and her music just gets better and better, and the website needed updating to celebrate the imminent release of her second album “Two Suns”, which is absolutely incredible…

Just as last time the site was a collaborative effort between myself and Natasha and was much fun to make.

It has a full content management system and is coded to web standards and all that stuff too. But mainly I think it looks great….

Andrea Scaringella, Scari, is a freelance photographer, born in Italy and who now lives in London.

He wanted a clean, modern and easy to use portfolio website that put the emphasis on his work and that contained a content management system which meant that he could update and adjust his site from wherever he is in the world.

Which when you look at his portfolio you realise is a lot of places.

The site is designed to web standards using CSS layouts.

I particularly recommend that you take a look at the images Andrea took in the Niger Region. They are truly extraordinary.

BARK is the name that jewellery designer Miwako Yoshioka goes under.

She specialises in handmade pieces that:

“…encompass different themes every season, nostalgic quality is a consistent feature. She often takes inspirations from childhood memories and quirky little objects that she is drawn to on the streets of London. Carefully chosen materials such as 1920‚Äôs buttons and beads, heart/star shaped semi-precious beads are also beautiful features of her collection, making it absolutely unique and desirable.”

Miwako wanted a site which was a little different from the majority of jewellery design websites and asked for it to have a handmade, quirky feel that reflected the style with which she works with. So I decided to draw patterns that used elements of her jewellery and placed the whole thing on a fabric background. Its been a real pleasure to make as its not often I get to hand-draw websites.
