I saw this shots quite by accident one evening whilst idly skimming through the internet. Peter Sutherland is a photographer and filmmaker who became interested in taking photos of deer after seeing one for the window from his mother’s kitchen in Colorado.
I think the contrast between wild animals and suburbia has always been something that has interested me and these photos illustrate that odd visual juxtaposition.
Have a look at Peter Sutherland’s website for more of his photography.

These images also reminded me of driving home at about 3 in the morning last November and someone calling me on my phone, I pulled over to answer the call but just missed it.
As I sat on the verge checking the number I had the sudden feeling of being watched, which at that time of day is never a good feeling. I looked up out of my windscreen to see an adult male deer stood directly in front of my car looking at me, its breath hanging in the air, eyes glinting in the headlights.
It stayed there for about a minute and then ran.
