Just before Christmas local taxi firm Abacus Taxis got in touch with me asking if I could update their existing website.
They wanted a design that had a universal appeal but yet attracted the local student community who could take advantage of the cheap rate the company have exclusively for students.

Andrea Scaringella, Scari, is a freelance photographer, born in Italy and who now lives in London.
He wanted a clean, modern and easy to use portfolio website that put the emphasis on his work and that contained a content management system which meant that he could update and adjust his site from wherever he is in the world.
Which when you look at his portfolio you realise is a lot of places.
The site is designed to web standards using CSS layouts.
I particularly recommend that you take a look at the images Andrea took in the Niger Region. They are truly extraordinary.

Bark Jewellery
BARK Jewellery
www.barkjewels.co.uk
BARK is the name that jewellery designer Miwako Yoshioka goes under.
She specialises in handmade pieces that:
“…encompass different themes every season, nostalgic quality is a consistent feature. She often takes inspirations from childhood memories and quirky little objects that she is drawn to on the streets of London. Carefully chosen materials such as 1920’s buttons and beads, heart/star shaped semi-precious beads are also beautiful features of her collection, making it absolutely unique and desirable.”
Miwako wanted a site which was a little different from the majority of jewellery design websites and asked for it to have a handmade, quirky feel that reflected the style with which she works with. So I decided to draw patterns that used elements of her jewellery and placed the whole thing on a fabric background. Its been a real pleasure to make as its not often I get to hand-draw websites.
As always the site is coded to W3C web standards using CSS layouts.
